​At Higher Trails Church, we take this calling to heart. Our goal is to equip the church by offering ministries and events that meet people right where they are - helping each person grow in faith and giving them the tools to share Christ boldly.
Arena Ministry
The Arena Ministry at Higher Trails, led by Ty Phipps, uses the rodeo arena to reach people who might not walk into a church building. It’s a place where faith, family, and community come together through events like the Higher Trails Championship Rodeo—creating connection, fun, and opportunities to share Christ’s love.
Connecting with Christ Ministry
The Connecting with Christ ministry at Higher Trails, led by Derrell Barksdale, helps adults grow deeper in their faith through Bible study. With a focus on real, practical teaching, the ministry equips believers to follow Christ and make disciples. Classes meet on Sundays and Wednesdays - come learn, grow, and connect!
Fellowship Ministry
The Fellowship Ministry at Higher Trails, led by Richard Gowens, brings people together through a variety of groups and events - like the Motorcycle Ministry, MAC3D (Men About Christ), and Ignite Men’s & Women’s Ministries. Their heart is simple: building community, sharing God’s Word, and showing Christ’s love in action.
Community Events
Led by Lindsey Fuller, our community events - like Blessed Breakfast, Easter, Red, White & Boom, Fall Festival, Candlelight Service, and more - offer free, family-friendly fun and a chance for our church to show love to our neighbors. It’s a great way to connect and celebrate together!
HTC Productions​
HTC Productions, led by Randy McNair, is the team behind the scenes making sure sound, media, and lighting run smoothly during services.
Kids Ministry
The Kids Ministry at Higher Trails, led by Nichole Miller, gives children a fun and faith-filled place to grow. Through Sunday School (Generations of Grace), Children’s Church, and Mid-Week Bible Studies, kids learn God’s Word, build friendships, and apply biblical truths in everyday life. With games, snacks, lessons, and special events year-round, this ministry helps kids lay a strong foundation in their walk with Christ.
Marketing & Communications
Marketing & Communications, led by Christi McLain, helps share the mission of Higher Trails through social media, advertising, our website, graphic design, and the church’s mobile app - keeping everyone connected and informed.

Praise & Worship
The Praise & Worship team, led by Scott Cowen, helps lead our church family in lifting hearts and voices to God through music. Worship sets the tone for each service, creating space to grow closer to Him and express our love and devotion together.
Safety Ministry
The Safety Team, led by Eric Murray, is dedicated to keeping Higher Trails a safe and welcoming place for worship and fellowship. They work behind the scenes to ensure the well-being and protection of everyone who walks through our doors.
Serve Team
Our Serve Team, led by Ivan & Ruth Worthington, is the friendly crew you meet first! They greet guests, help with directions, prepare meals when needed, and keep the coffee bar warm and welcoming.
Student Ministry
The Student Ministry, led by our youth ministry team, is all about middle and high schoolers growing in faith together. Through worship, Bible study, and fellowship, students find a welcoming space to deepen their walk with Christ and navigate life’s challenges with God’s guidance.
